Since
Karen Bobetic started working in stained glass as a hobby
in 1989, she dreamed of having her own art glass studio.
Now,
that
dream is realized.
Karen's
studio functions as her creative work space for the production
of original artworks in kiln-formed glass, stained glass
windows, glass mosaics, cabinet inserts and other three
dimensional glass art.
The studio
is also a major glass art center in Houston, where Karen
offers a range of classes and
workshops in kiln-forming (fusing and slumping),
stained glass, mosaics, etching (sandblasting) and dichroic
jewelry.
In 2009,
with the move into the present location on Westview, a glass
gift gallery was added with limited hours on Tuesday, Thursday
and Friday. Here you'll find hand-crafted items from large
platters and wall sculptures to dichroic &
PMC (precious metal clay) jewelry.
Karen is
a member of the Glass Art
Society (GAS), an international
group of glass artists, as well as the Society
of American Mosaic Artists (SAMA), an international group of mosaic artists.
In addition
to the artwork that can be found in the representational
galleries listed on this site,
Karen welcomes inquiries for commissioned art. Every
commission results in an original
piece of art made in the studio in Houston, Texas.
